Cathy Cervin

Cathy is a retired family doctor and former Dalhousie professor, taught many doctors who now work in Spryfield and across Nova Scotia. Her past leadership roles include Chief of Family Medicine at the IWK and President of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. She brings experience in healthcare, strategic planning and policy to serve the people of Halifax Atlantic

Cathy is a mother, grandmother and part of a blended, diverse family. She moved to Halifax in 1988 from Northern Ontario, raised her family here and worked for twenty-five years as a family doctor, educator and leader at Dalhousie Family Medicine. Throughout her career she has worked for social justice, equity, diversity and the importance of an equal voice for everyone. Her local and and national leadership experience means she brings the knowledge, skills and imagination to address the complex, difficult problems we face as a province.
